How does it work?

Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin. In filler form, it has been cross-linked to make it last longer and hold its shape. When injected, it adds volume, lifts tissue and integrates naturally with the surrounding skin. Over time the body gradually breaks it down.

What does the treatment involve?

We begin with a full consultation and facial assessment. Numbing cream is applied before treatment. Filler is then placed using a fine needle or cannula, with shaping and assessment throughout. Most appointments take 30 to 60 minutes. Results are visible straight away, though swelling is normal for the first few days.

How long do results last?

Typically nine to eighteen months, depending on the area treated and the amount used. Lips metabolise filler faster than, for example, cheeks or the jawline. Hyaluronic acid fillers are fully reversible with a dissolving enzyme (hyaluronidase) if needed.

Who is suitable?

Most healthy adults over 18 are suitable candidates. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have active skin infection in the treatment area. Anyone with a known allergy to hyaluronic acid or lidocaine should let us know at consultation.

Aftercare

• Avoid touching the treated area for 24 hours
• No intense heat, alcohol or exercise for 24 hours
• Some swelling and bruising is normal and settles within three to seven days
• A two-week review is included with every treatment

Anti-wrinkle injections relax muscles to smooth expression lines. Fillers replace lost volume and add structural support. They treat different concerns and work very well together.

Will it look natural?
