How does it work?

Botulinum toxin blocks the nerve signal that tells a muscle to contract. The muscle relaxes, smoothing the overlying skin. The effect is temporary, which is why it needs topping up every few months, and it is fully reversible as the body naturally breaks down the product over time.

What does the treatment involve?

After a thorough consultation, small amounts of botulinum toxin are injected precisely into the target muscles using a very fine needle. The whole appointment takes 20 to 30 minutes. Results start to appear within three to five days, with the full effect visible at two weeks. A complimentary two-week review is included with every treatment.

How long do results last?

Most clients enjoy their results for three to four months. With regular treatment over time, many people find results last a little longer and less product is needed.

Who is suitable?

Most healthy adults aged 18 and over are suitable. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have certain neuromuscular conditions. A consultation will confirm suitability before any treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Will I look frozen or unnatural?

Not with a well-dosed, well-placed treatment. We use conservative amounts and always assess your natural expressions during the consultation. The goal is to soften lines while keeping your face looking like you.

Does it hurt?

The needles used are extremely fine and most clients describe the sensation as a tiny sharp pinch that lasts less than a second. Numbing cream can be applied on request if you are particularly sensitive.

Am I too young or too old to start?

There is no single right age. Some clients start in their mid-twenties as a preventative measure before lines become established. Others come in their fifties or sixties for the first time and see excellent results. A consultation will help us understand what is right for you.

Can I have treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Botulinum toxin treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. We will reschedule your appointment once this period has passed.

What if I don't like the results?

If at your two-week review you feel the result is not quite right, we can make adjustments. Anti-wrinkle injections wear off naturally over three to four months, so any result you are unhappy with is not permanent.
