Small injections of botulinum toxin are placed into the skin of the affected area — most commonly the underarms. The toxin temporarily blocks the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, dramatically reducing or eliminating sweating in the treated area. The treatment is not a permanent cure, but results typically last six to nine months — significantly longer than the three to four months seen with anti-wrinkle injections, because sweat glands respond differently to the toxin than muscles do.

What does treatment involve?

A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area before the session begins. Zupi then places a series of small injections in a grid pattern across the affected area. For underarms, the session takes approximately 30 minutes. Hands and feet require more injections and take slightly longer. There is no downtime.
